Unemployment benefits are granted for a minimum of 3 months. If you have worked for more than 4 years, the benefit period will be longer. Each additional year extends the benefit period by another month.
For the first 2 months you will receive 75% of your gross salary, in the following months 70%. If you did not receive a fixed monthly salary and you were paid per hours, the UWV will calculate the average hours worked and the average rate per hour (often rates vary by day or shift) from the last 12 months of work and will determine your benefit on this basis. Paid vacation hours do not count towards the average benefit, because they are not paid per hour.
