During the unemployment benefit period you have to look for a new job. The WERKbedrijf requires you to do a job search at least once a week. This can be a personal visit to applicate for a job, registration to the agency, telephone contact, sending an e-mail, registering on the website etc.
It is also your responsibility to report any changes that occur while you are receiving the benefit. Have you changed your address, found a permanent or temporary job, go on vacation? You have only 2 days to do so. Failure to report the changes on time may result in the imposition of a penalty, withholding or even loss of the benefit.
While receiving the unemployment benefit you are entitled to a paid vacation. It is 8% of the benefit amount. You are entitled to 20 days of paid vacation per year. The number of days of leave depends on the length of your benefit. If you have received the benefit for 3 months, you will receive a maximum of 5 days of paid vacation. Remember that the leave should be reported before its beginning, not after.
